⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tom has a very firm grasp of comedic tools that I never knew existed until I started working with him (taken his intermediate in-person workshop multiple times). Not only will he help you elevate and punch-up your jokes and get you to see them from a point of view that you never considered, but he will also be there to serve as a guide and a coach to help you navigate the journey of stand-up comedy. I’m truly grateful that I found him. He’s the real deal!

what’s included

3 GROUP WORKSHOPS

🎤

These in-person “workout rooms” are capped at 12 participants to guarantee meaningful stage time and personalized feedback.

More structured and productive than an open mic, every participant receives 6 minutes of stage time per workshop followed by personalized feedback from Tom and insights from the group — making each session dynamic, and growth-driven.

Workshops are held at Pearl Studios, conveniently located near Penn Station in the heart of Manhattan, and have a reputation for having a fun, productive vibe.

2 coaching sessions 1-on-1

💻

Each session is one hour with Tom over Zoom and are designed to sharpen your material and improve your laughs per minute.

Whether you’re polishing existing jokes, brainstorming new bits, reviewing past performances, tackling the mental hurdles of stand-up, or strategizing next career steps, you’ll get tailored guidance and direct, actionable feedback.

This is where the real breakthroughs happen. Tom credits this same combination of weekly workout rooms and regular private coaching with helping him become a professional comedian.

A Live performance

⭐️

Cap it all off with a 6-minute performance in the famous showroom at Don’t Tell Mama—located on renowned Restaurant Row in the heart of Manhattan’s Theatre District.

It has reputation for being a great show to bring friends to, with a mix of pros and intermediate comedians on a weekend night in prime time.

We have found it to be an especially effective show to test material and get valuable new “data points” on your set. You’ll also have the option to get a professional video recording of your performance.

“Before this workshop, I always created my stand-up material by trying to ‘be funny’ or trying to be clever and witty. Through Tom’s workshop I learned that instead of forcing punchlines, I can actually craft comedy that reflects my real emotions and raw truths of my experiences. I am now getting much bigger and more consistent laughs—I highly recommend Tom’s workshop to anyone looking to grow in stand-up comedy!”

“Working with Tom Eschelman has been a complete game changer. Tom is a comic's comic..a teacher's teacher...in the years since I have been in the business, I have never come across someone as dedicated to his craft and to helping others as Tom. I went from a meandering comic storyteller to having an authentic comedic set in a matter of weeks (In-person Workshop). I am now more confident when I perform. Tom wants you to be better than good...he wants you to soar with your comedic voice and his well-placed guidance.”
